Maggie Butler Collins
March 10, 1935 – April 20, 2020

Private graveside funeral services for Maggie Jewell Butler Collins, 85, of Cairo, GA, will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Pastor Dewayne Atkinson will officiate. Mrs. Collins passed away at Grady General Hospital in Cairo, GA, on Monday, April 20, 2020.

Mrs. Collins was born on March 10, 1935, in Cairo, GA, to the late John Thomas Butler and Vera Inez Parks Butler. On November 25, 1952, she married Malvin Collins, Jr., who preceded her in death on October 4, 2005. She was a spinning and winding operator with Coats & Clark, Inc. in Thomasville. She was a devoted member of the Cairo Church of God. Maggie married the love of her life Malvin and they were married for 53 years. If you knew Maggie Jewell at all, you knew she showed her love through her cooking; whether cheese biscuits in the morning or one of her many delicious cakes. Our mom always had room for one more at the table and she made sure that you were full when you left. Mama never met a stranger and if you were it didn’t take you long before you felt the same love for her that all of us did. She got her faith in God from her parents which now has been passed on to her children and grandchildren.
