Private graveside funeral services for Clyde Earnest Johnson, 90, of Thomasville, GA, will be in Liberty Hill Cemetery, Meigs, GA. Rev. Gerri Simpson will officiate. Mr. Johnson passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on April 9, 2020.

Mr. Johnson was born on September 4, 1929, in Thomasville, GA, to the late Lewis Manford Johnson and Cecil Lee Causey Johnson. On August 6, 1971, he married Helen Elizabeth Sholtz Johnson, who preceded him in death on April 9, 1996. He retired from the road maintenance department of the Georgia Department of Transportation. He was a member of the World of Truth Tabernacle in Thomasville. Clyde Johnson was a good husband, father, friend, and grandpa. His family called him “Papa.”

Survivors include: children, Donald Johnson (Sandra) of Jesup, GA, Hollie Harrison (Eldon Hickey) of Ochlocknee, GA, David Johnson (Evie) of Thomasville, GA; grandchildren, Brooks Johnson (Heather) of Jesup, GA, Renee Johnson of Jesup, GA, Kori Johnson of Jesup, GA, Beth Weldon (Matt) of Pavo, GA, Victoria Johnson (Daniel) of Ochlocknee, GA, Veronica Johnson of Thomasville, GA, Cameron Johnson of Thomasville, GA; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Johnson, Morgan Johnson, Presley Johnson, Elena Johnson, all of Jesup, GA; brothers, James Johnson (Elaine), Freddie Johnson (Louis); sisters, Mary Singleton (Hollis), Caroline Johnson, Prezzi Poole; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by: parents; wife; son, Billy Johnson; brothers, Walter Johnson, Joseph Johnson; and sisters, Barbara Johnson, Alice Smith.
