Memorial services for Yvonne Elkins Pope, 80, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 7, 2026, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Rev. Ron McCaskill will officiate. Services will conclude at the chapel. Private interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mrs. Pope passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on September 3, 2026.

Mrs. Pope was born on May 4, 1946, in Blue Ridge, GA, to the late George Western Holloway and Mary Johnson Nation. She retired as a seamstress from Ithica Industries. She was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include: her children, Sandee Elkins McLendon, Susan Elkins, both of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Jessica Mathis, BJ Joyner, both of Cairo, GA, Cody Pendergast of Ochlocknee, GA, Taylor Elkins of Statesboro, GA; great-grandchildren, Luke, Riley, Sky, Journey, Oliver; brother, Alvin Holloway of Atlanta, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husbands, Jimmy Elkins, Gordy Pope; her son, Wesley Elkins; and siblings, Lucille Drake, Susie Lane, Dennis Holloway, Gerald Holloway.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home immediately following the service.
