Funeral services for Edward “Eddie” Earl Harden, 73, of Cairo, GA, are at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, July 26, 2026, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Rev. Robert Crapps will officiate. Military Honors will be presented. Interment will be in Mizpah Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Pelham, GA. Mr. Harden passed away at his home on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.
Active pallbearers will be Colt Lee, Colin Lee, J. W. Knight, Mark Harden, Deleon Akridge and Joey Brinkley.
Edward “Eddie” Earl Harden was born on October 4, 1952, to the late Rayford and Verdie Harden,
Shortly after graduating from high school, Eddie answered the call to serve his country when he was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He served his country with honor.
On May 1, 1976, Eddie married the love of his life, Becky Anderson. Together they built a life rooted in faith, family, hard work.
Eddie was truly a jack of all trades. If something was broken, he could fix it. If something needed to be built, he could build it. He had an incredible ability to work with his hands and took pride in doing every job the right way. His knowledge, determination, and strong work ethic earned the respect of everyone who knew him.
When he wasn’t working, Eddie found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved spending time on the water with a fishing pole in his hand, relaxing with an ice-cold beer, and enjoying a cigarette while taking in the quiet around him. He never needed much to be content-just a peaceful place, the outdoors, and the people he loved.
Eddie was a man of few words. He wasn’t one to express his feelings through long conversations or grand speeches. Instead, he showed his love through his actions-by working hard, lending a helping hand, repairing what was broken, and quietly being there for the people he loved. Those who knew him best understood that his love was found not in what he said, but in what he did.
Above all, Eddie loved his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Becky Harden; his daughters, Pasilie Lee and her husband, Jon, of Cairo, Georgia, and Cierra Harden of Cairo, Georgia; his cherished grandchildren, Colt Lee, Colin Lee, Harper Harden, and Brittany Hardwick.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rayford and Verdie Harden; his brothers, Rayford Harden, Jr., Andy Harden and Ricky Harden; sister-in-law Jo Ann Harden and his parents-in-law. John and Grace Anderson.
Eddie will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering work ethic, and willingness to help anyone in need. The things he built and repaired throughout his life stand as a testament to his skill, but the love he gave through his actions is the legacy that will endure the longest.
His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be remembered in the stories shared around the kitchen table, in the lessons he taught by example, and in the hands of those who learned simply by watching him work. We will think of him every time we cast a fishing line, hear the stories that made us laugh, or find ourselves fixing something the way he would have done it. Though he may no longer walk beside us, the values he lived by-hard work, perseverance, humility, and quiet love-will continue to guide his family for generations to come.
Dad, thank you for teaching us that love isn’t always spoken, it is shown. Thank you for the sacrifices you made, the things you built with your hands, and the example you set through a lifetime of hard work. We will carry your lessons, your strength, and your love with us for the rest of our lives.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
