Peggy Cash
March 2, 1955 – September 3, 2022

Peggy “Peg” Marie Park Cash, 67, died after a prolonged illness on Sept 3, 2022, at Piedmont Henry Hospital.  She was born on March 2, 1955, in Eugene Oregon, the daughter of Sue Harrell Park and Walt Park.  Peg attended elementary/middle school in Cairo, GA but relocated to live with her maternal aunt, Pauline Hewlett and uncle, John Hewlett in College Park, GA where she graduated North Clayton High School in 1973.  Following graduation, she briefly attended Georgia Southwestern College in Americas, GA but left to pursue other health care aspirations.  She became a certified EMT in 1976, married Bobby Cash in 1978 and celebrated the birth of her daughter, Kristie Cash, in 1979.  Peg divorced in 1982 but continued to work as an EMT until 1988 when she became an ER Tech at Southern Regional Hospital in Morrow GA until her retirement in 2011.

Peg was overjoyed with and celebrated the birth of her 3 grandchildren.  She enjoyed family gatherings, southern cooking, watching softball/football/baseball, Harry Potter movies, and volunteering with her local Girl Scout Troupe.  In her youth she had been a member of Girl Scouts, played/ coached softball, and played tennis.

She is survived by her daughter, Kristie Cash Monroe, Loganville GA, grandchildren, Ryan Cash, Daniel Lee Monroe, and Sara Monroe, and her younger brother, Michael Collins, São Paulo Brazil. Peg was preceded in death by her mother, Sue Harrell Collins, father, Walt Park, grandmother, Mattie Harrell, and guardian aunt, Pauline Hewlett.

A small memorial service will be held for Peggy in the Cairo Cemetery on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 11:30 a.m.
