Graveside services for Katherine “Kathy” Laura Nelson, 74, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 26, 2026, in Pine Hill Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Elder Jeffrey Mobley, Sr. will officiate. Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mrs. Nelson passed away at her home on Sunday, February 22, 2026.

Active pallbearers will be Tommy Williams, Tyler Turvin, Jamie Robertson, Michael Mobley, Jeff Mobley, Jr. and Morgan Mobley.

Mrs. Nelson was born on July 6, 1951, in Mountain City, VA, to the late Claude Lee Selfe and Edith Ileen Thomas Selfe. She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, drinking coffee and watching Andy Griffin. She love love loved everyone.

Survivors include: her daughters, Laura Robertson (Jamie) of Cairo, GA, Diane Mobley of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Katie Williams ( Tommy), Kellie Thomas (Tyler), Kelsey Thomas, Trinity Carroll (Landen), Makayla Mobley, Michael Mobley (Breanna), Morgan Mobley, all of Cairo, GA; great-grandchildren, Kolton Williams, Jaxon Turvin, Kash Thomas, Kamaya White, Jetson James Mobley, all of Cairo, GA; and a brother, David Lee Selfe (Brenda) of Crawfordville, FL.

She was preceded in death by: her father, Claude Lee Selfe; her mother, Edith Ileen Selfe; sister, Regina Lynn Carr; and a brother, Phillip Guy Selfe.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
