Graveside funeral services for June Snipes Carter, 93, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 9, 2026, in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Rev. Matt Peak will officiate. Mrs. Carter passed away at Legacy Village at Plantation Manor in Thomasville, GA, on Thursday, March 5, 2026.
Mrs. Carter was born on January 30, 1933, in Pelham, GA, to the late George Washington Snipes and Easter Belle Pollock Snipes. On May 4, 1950, she married James Edward Carter, who preceded her in death on October 9, 2006. She retired as a bookkeeper with Marbut Company in Valdosta. She worked there for over 25 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pelham and the Golden Age for many years. She had a strong Christian Faith and loved her church family.
June enjoyed being outdoors with family and friends. She loved going to the Pelham Jamboree and dancing on Saturday nights with James. Later in life, she enjoyed going on Pelham Banking trips and church related trips to Toccoa with her sister, Stella Hayes. June loved going to the beach with her family. She loved her only grandson and immensely loved spending time with the great grandson and great granddaughter.
Survivors include: her daughter, Carla Bradshaw (John) of Pelham, GA; grandson, John Carter Bradshaw of Pelham, GA; great-grandchildren, River Luke Bradshaw of Thomasville, GA, Lana Faith Bradshaw of Pelham, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by: her parents George and Belle Snipes; her husband, James E. Carter; and siblings, JoAnn Glover, Ruby Carter, Stella Hayes, Doris Sapp, Pascal Porter, James Porter, Roy Snipes and Hollis Snipes.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service in Greenwood Cemetery.
