John Henry “Shorty” Carroll

Funeral services for John Henry “Shorty” Carroll, 80, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 19, 2026, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Rev. Felisha Mitchell will officiate. Interment will be in Union Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Pelham, GA. Mr. Carroll passed away at home on Sunday, February 15, 2026.

Mr. Carroll was born on March 11, 1945, in Meigs, GA, to the late John Wesley Carroll and Martha Lashley Carroll. On September 5, 1964, he married Babara Ann Lewis Carroll. They have been married 61 years. He retired as a self-employed crane operator. He was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church.

Survivors include: his wife, Barbara Ann Carroll of Cairo, GA; children, Dianna Hatcher (Wesley) of Cairo, GA, Bobby Carroll (Brenda) of Vernon, FL; grandchildren, Kyle Hatcher (Stephanie) of Cairo, GA, Derek Hatcher (Leah) of Pelham, GA, Chasitie Hallman (Tyler) of Marianna, FL; great-grandchildren, Brocktyn, Berklee, Dalton, Olivia, Melanie (Aston), Ty, Lawson, Jayda, Leland, Jax, Lily and Waylon; siblings, James Carroll of Cairo, GA, Annie Thompson of Cairo, GA; brother-in-law, Charles Lewis; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; and a brother, John Wesley Carroll.

Memorials may be made in Mr. Carroll’s memory to Georgia Hospice Care, 303 E. Shotwell St., Bainbridge, GA 39819; or any Alzheimer’s Fund.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
