Effie Tuggle Walker
May 10, 1959 – March 11, 2022

Funeral services for Effie Tuggle Walker, 62, of Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 14, 2022, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA.  Pastor Johnny H. Moore will officiate.  Interment will be in Union Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Pelham, GA.  Mrs. Walker passed away at her home on Friday, March 11, 2022.

Active pallbearers will be her grandson, Scott Thomas Cumbie, Jr., James Pilgrim, Dekin Saddler, Landon Faircloth, Reid Dixon and Dane Stokes.

Effie was born on May 10, 1959, in Cairo, GA, to the late John Bernard Tuggle, Sr. and Betty June Reneau Tuggle.  On December 10, 2006, she married Arlie Gregory Walker, who preceded her in death on January 23, 2020.  Until her retirement, she was employed as a bookkeeper with the Strawbridge Shoppe in Thomasville.  She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include: her children, Eddie Dixon of Thomasville, GA, Hannah Ansley of Whigham, GA, Heidi Cumbie (Scott) of Cairo, GA; step-children, Austen Walker (Erin), Dusten Walker (Ashley), Kursten Williamson; grandchildren, Landon Faircloth, Reid Dixon, Allie Egan, Jesse Hurst, Breanna Hurst (Dekin), Dane Stokes, Justice Ansley, Ciara Waldrop, Meagan Pilgrim (James), Scott Thomas Cumbie (Erin); great-grandchildren, Ava Lashley, Rhylee Lashley, Ella Rivenburg, Maitlyn Pilgrim, Waylon Cumbie, Josey Cumbie, Eastyn Saddler; 8 step-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Leah Brown (Ken) of Cairo, GA, Vivian Kadis (Gerald) of Thomasville, GA, Johnny Tuggle, Jr. (Joanne) of Cairo, GA, William Tuggle (Sabra) of Cairo, GA, Virginia Deese (Paul) of Thomasville, GA, James Tuggle of Cairo, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Monday, March 14, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
