Funeral services for Betty Jean Poole, 83, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 9, 2025, at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Miles Carter will officiate. Services will conclude at the church. Private interment will be in Providence Community Cemetery, Whigham, GA. Mrs. Poole passed away at Archbold Living-Cairo on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
Active pallbearers will be Eric Poole, Allen Poole, Garrett Poole, Connor Poole, Ian Millsap and Landyn Meredith.
Mrs. Poole was born on July 13, 1941, in Cairo, GA, to the late Mose Collin “MC” Barrineau and Ora Bella Halstead Barrineau. On October 17, 1959, she married James Miller Poole, who preceded her in death on December 12, 2013. She retired as a machine operator from Timken. She was a devoted member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Cairo.
Survivors include: her children, Jimmy Poole (Susan) of Cairo, GA, Barry Poole (Sara) of Cairo, GA, David Poole (Becky) of Ochlocknee, GA; grandchildren, Jessica Millsap (Henry) of Cairo, GA, Kasey Turner (Kevin) of Cairo, GA, Eric Poole (Danielle) of Thomasville, GA, Allen Poole (Tricia) of Cairo, GA, Garrett Poole (Abby) of Ochlocknee, GA, Connor Poole of Ochlocknee, GA, Emma Kate Poole of Ochlocknee, GA; great-grandchildren, Ian Millsap, Cole Millsap, AJ Poole, Peyton Meredith, Landyn Meredith, Averleigh Turner, Phoenix Turner, Maverick Poole; her siblings, Charles Barrineau (Kay), Tommy Barrineau (Linda), Jack Barrineau (Caryl), Janice Baty (Robert); and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; brothers, Archie Barrineau, Alton Barrineau; and sister, Doris Watford.
