Funeral services for Lonnie Franklin “Frank” Lodge, 88, of Whigham, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Bethel United Methodist Church, Reno, GA. Dr. Todd McDonald, Rev. Tucker McDonald and Rev. Whit Byram will officiate. Services will conclude at the church. Private interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mr. Lodge passed away at his home on Sunday, August 23, 2026.
Active pallbearers will be Ben Hopkins, David Hopkins, Eric Maxwell, Wyatt Vaughn, Shane Sallee and John McDonald.
Mr. Lodge was born on August 21, 1938, in Cairo, GA, to the late James Lawton Lodge and Ellie Harrison Lodge. On April 3, 1965, he married Annette Maxwell Lodge. They have been married for 61 years. He was a graduate of Whigham High School and later completed his college education at ABAC and Georgia Southern University. He started his working career as a professional truck driver and later joined his family in the farming operation. He was a long-time member of Whigham Baptist and later attended Bethel United Methodist Church in Reno.
Survivors include: his wife, Annette Lodge of Whigham, GA; children, Angela L. McDonald (Todd) of Daphne, AL, Jenni L. Newberry of Whigham, GA, Jason Lodge of Whigham, GA; grandchildren, Allie McDonald of Daphne, AL, Tucker McDonald (Cassidy) of Statesville, NC, Maddie Mapp (Branton) of Panama City, FL, Kelly Newberry of Roswell, GA, Jacob Newberry of Whigham, GA; great-grandchildren, Ellie Murray, Wallace McGraw, both of Daphne, AL, Colton Mapp, Riley Mapp, both of Panama City, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; infant daughter; son-in-law, James Ronald “Ron” Newberry; and his siblings, Dr. James Lodge and Marilyn L. Bush.

The family will receive friends at Bethel United Methodist Church on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and after the service.
