Phillip Johnson Gainous

Phillip Johnson Gainous, 63, of Cairo, GA, passed away at his home on Tuesday, October 13, 2026. The family will have a memorial service in the near future. This obituary will be updated when the date and time is set.

Mr. Gainous was born on September 14, 1963, in Cairo, GA, to the late Douglas Dewitt Gainous and Minnie Lewis Gainous. He was a graduate of Whigham High School. He was a business entrepreneur and produce broker.

Survivors include: his sister, Barbara Thomas Helmer (Kenneth) of Toccoa, GA; a host of nieces and nephews; and his kids huskies, Sitka, Denali, Dakoda and Tanaai.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewitt and Minnie Gainous and a brother, Don Dewitt Gainous.
