Rory Donavan Cook
April 11, 1972 – September 7, 2019

Funeral services for Rory Donavan Cook, 47, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at the Cairo Church of God, Cairo, GA. Pastor DeWayne Atkinson, Pastor Gerald Horne and Pastor Avery Hutto will officiate. Mr. Cook passed away in Cleveland, GA, on Saturday, September 7, 2019.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Fuller, Toby Miller, Andre Wynn, Shannon Hendrixson, Robbie Mitchell, David Ezell, Tim Ezell, Phillip Palmer, Rocky Wynn, Billy Godwin, Zane Mirick, Dennis Ward and Garry Salter.

Mr. Cook was born on April 11, 1972, in Quincy, FL, to the late Ronnie Herbert Cook and Ann Faircloth Cook, who survives. On September 28, 1991, he married Susan Snowden Cook, who survives. They were married for almost 28 years. Rory was an avid fisherman and gun collector. He enjoyed playing softball on his church team, golfing and shooting sporting clays. He was a member at the Cairo Church of God. Rory was the toughest, strongest and most hardworking man. He was also very tender hearted and would do anything for anybody. Thanks, Rory for the memories, the fun and just being you.

Survivors include: his wife, Susan S. Cook of Cairo, GA; son, Ryan D. Cook of Cairo, GA; daughter, Shelby M. Cook of Ray City, GA; grandchildren, Hunter Elizabeth Cook of Cairo, GA, Skylar Grace Riley of Thomasville, GA; mother, Ann Faircloth Cook of Cairo, GA; brothers, Ricky Cook of Cairo, GA, Randy Cook (Terri) of Cairo, GA, Robbie Cook of Cairo, GA, Ron Cook (Debra) of Andersonville, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father.

Memorials may be made in Mr. Cook’s memory to: Cairo Church of God Building Fund, 301 Pavilion Road, Cairo, GA 39828.

The family will receive friends at the Cairo Church of God Life Center on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
