Mary Osborn Barrett
March 8, 1944 – April 2, 2021

Graveside funeral services for Mary Osborn Barrett, 77, of Ochlocknee, GA, are on Monday, April 5, 2021, in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Arnold Buckner will officiate.  Mrs. Barrett passed away at Grady General Hospital in Cairo, GA, on Friday, April 2, 2021.

Active pallbearers will be her grandsons, Andrew Barrett, Thomas Barrett, Bobby Ray Merritt, Chris Barrett, Spencer Barrett, and Josh Barrett.

Mrs. Barrett was born on March 8, 1944, in Brundidge, AL, to the late Gordon Lee Osborn, Sr. and Loretta Bundy Osborn.  On March 26, 1960, she married Tracy Ford Barrett, who preceded her in death on September 29, 2018.  She was a former nurse at Whigham Nursing Home.  In retirement she was a homemaker that cared for her loving family.  Mary was a member of the Cotton Assembly.

Survivors include: children, Bragg Barrett (Loretta) of Ochlocknee, GA, Sybil Merritt (Troy) of Ochlocknee, GA, Dean Barrett (Belinda) of Cairo, GA; daughter-in-law, Cathy Barrett of Ochlocknee, GA; 12 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ray Osborn (Kathleen) of Cairo, GA, Buddy Osborn (Evelyn) of Ochlocknee, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; son, Larry Randolph Barrett; grandson, Anthony Hale; and a sister, Margie Osborn.

The family will receive friends at the home of Troy and Sybil Merritt on Saturday, April 3, 2021 and on Monday morning, April 5, 2021.  Sunday will be reserved for an immediate family memorial.
