Funeral services for Carolyn Sellers Meadows, 84, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 22, 2021, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Chris Allen will officiate.  Services will conclude at the chapel.  Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA.  Mrs. Meadows passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Tuesday, July 20, 2021.

Active pallbearers will be Mrs. Meadows’ grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Meadows was born on October 31, 1936, in Cairo, GA, to the late Talmadge Sellers and Vivian Hinson Sellers. On November 22, 1956, she married the one and only love of her life, John Wayne Meadows, who preceded her in death on July 11, 2018. She was a graduate of Cairo High School Class of 1955.  She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Cairo and loved to worship and fellowship with her Sunday School Class Members.

She was the retired owner/operator of Frills & Freckles Boutique (formerly known as Kate & Elmers), who enjoyed interacting with her customers and trips to market in Atlanta.   She loved fashion, enjoyed shopping and her trips to the mountains with her girls and was always willing to offer her words of advice.   She loved sitting on her front porch visiting with family and friends.   She cherished her family very much and always looked forward to the holidays when everyone was together.

Survivors include: her children, Teresa M. Jones (Elzie) of Cairo, GA, Dwayne Meadows (Cindy) of Cairo, GA, Pam M. Powe (Marty) of Cairo, GA, Amy Meadows of Cairo, GA, Jason Meadows (Karen) of Brentwood, TN; grandchildren, Eric Elkins, Courtney Hosey (Chris), Jack Jones, Jennifer Lee (Marcus), Travis Drake, Fletcher Powe (Julie), Dyllon Powe (Hillary), Trey Ferrell (April), Claley Harrell, Ethan Meadows, Ellie Meadows and Miles Meadows; great-grandchildren, Zakary Elkins, Chase Hosey, Ryan Hosey, Jacob Elkins, C. J. Lee, Riley Powe, Reaghan Powe; sisters-in-law, Doris M. Morey, Genova M. Carlton, Letha Meadows; her loyal companion, Peanut; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; great-grandson, Timothy; and a brother, Leon Sellers.

Memorials may be made in Mrs. Meadows’ memory to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

The family wants to extend their love and thanks to her dear friends at the Village at Wedgewood Apartments.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home immediately following the funeral service.
