Funeral services for Truman Emory Baggett, 73, of Whigham, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 31, 2018, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Rev. Bob Knight will officiate. Services will conclude at the Chapel. Interment will be in Providence Cemetery, Whigham, GA. Mr. Baggett passed away at Grady General Hospital in Cairo, GA, on Tuesday, August 28, 2018.
Active pallbearers will be Will Patterson, Daniel Willis, Kenneth Baggett, Marvin Edenfield, Rodney Hester and Cosme “Frog” Castillo.
Mr. Baggett was born on May 18, 1945, in Cairo, GA, to the late Grady Emory Baggett and Maydell Willis Baggett. He was married to Vergie Merle Edenfield Baggett, who preceded him in death on December 12, 2008. He retired from the logging and timber industry. He is a member of El Bethel Baptist Church in Whigham.
Survivors include: daughter, Jennifer Castillo (Cosme) of Cairo, GA; sons, Jason “Buck” Baggett of Whigham, GA, James “Gator” Baggett of Whigham, GA; grandchildren, Sara Castillo of Cairo, GA, Cosme “Frog” Castillo, III of Whigham, GA, Kevin Baggett (Rachel) of Norfolk, VA, Darren Baggett of Whigham, GA, Taylor Baggett of Havana, FL, Tyler Baggett of Havana, FL; great-grandchildren, Clinton Emory Baggett of Norfolk, VA, Ava Birdshaw of Whigham, GA; sister, Vivian Baggett Wilkerson (Terry) of Whigham, GA; brothers, Casey Baggett (Mary) of Whigham, GA; David Baggett of Whigham, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife; son, Bobby D. Baggett; and a brother, Clifton Baggett.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Thursday, August 30, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
