Thomas Matthew “Tommy” Thomson
September 18, 1968 – September 15, 2025

Thomas Matthew “Tommy” Thomson, 56, of Havana, FL, passed away at Aviata Health Care in Tallahassee, FL, on Monday, September 15, 2025. The family will have a memorial service for family and friends on Friday, September 26th, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at the D. Arthur McBride Gallery and Studio, 8703 FL-GA Hwy in Havana, FL. Refreshments will be served.
Mr. Thomson was born on September 18, 1968, in Rota, Spain, to Kim George Varna Garis and Darlene Williams (also known as D. Arthur McBride). He was later adopted by William “Scott” Thomson.
He received a degree in Fine Arts from Florida State University and was an accomplished artist. He was a talented portrait artist, who was also intrigued by fantasy subjects. In later years, he found inspiration in the beauty of wildlife. He’ll be remembered for his inquisitive and curious spirit, his loving heart, and his tremendous perseverance navigating health challenges.
Survivors include: his mother, Darlene Williams and stepfather, Chuck Williams of Havana, FL; his brother, Ron Thomson and wife, Mina, of Thomasville, GA; niece, Natalie Webber and her husband, Nate, of Fairhope, AL; nephew, Nick Thomson of Virginia Beach, VA; and a host of aunts, uncles and extended family. He was preceded in death by his father, Kim Varna Garis, and his adoptive father, Scott Thomson.
