Ruth Jeanette Eidson
March 12, 1938 – May 2, 2023

Ruth Jeanette Eidson of Panama City Beach, Florida, was received by Jesus to her heavenly home on May 2, 2023. Born on March 12, 1938 in Ozark AL, Jeanette is survived by her two daughters, Marsha Eidson Duvall (Ramon) of Panama City Beach, FL, and Cheryl Leigh Hunter (Bill) of Savannah GA; grandchildren Ramon Marshall Duvall II, and Ashleigh Rae Duvall of Panama City Beach FL, and William Dallas Hunter of Savannah, GA. She is also survived by sisters Shirley Newsome of Tallahassee, FL, and Faye Newsome Herring (Ken) of Panama City Beach Florida; brother Sammy Newsome (Linda) of Bainbridge GA and their son Sam Richard Newsome Jr.(Lauren) of Savannah, GA; sister-in-law Carolyn Newsome and her daughter Julie Newsome, Julie’s daughter Lynlee Poppell and numerous other family and friends.

Jeanette was preceded to heaven by her husband of 54 years Bobby Vance Eidson, parents Robert and Mary Lou Newsome, and her brother Robert Newsome Jr.

Jeanette and Bobby established the well-respected Eidson Exterminating Company of Cairo, GA, and worked together for 50 years serving the community and taking care of their pest control needs. They were active members of First Baptist Church in Cairo, where Bobby served as a deacon and Jeanette sang in the choir. For the past twelve years, Jeanette resided with her daughter Marsha in Panama City Beach, FL. She was a member of Beachside Fellowship Church where the entire congregation called her “Mom”. She enjoyed participating in women’s ministry, cooking, baking thin layer chocolate and caramel cakes, and watching her grandchildren grow up.

Since she has moved on to her heavenly reward, she will be missed by all who remember her commitment to the Lord and her family, and her determination and fighting spirit. With God’s help and willingness to believe she defeated Leukemia twenty years ago. She fought valiantly in life to the grand old age of eighty-five and then said she wanted to be at home with the Lord. Jesus honored her request even as those who remain do the same.

We will remember the joy and laughter we shared together watching her pose for the camera and dance the tutti-frutti. We will miss you Jeanette, and we will always remember you as the best mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. We know you won’t forget us, and WE WILL BE SEEING YOU SOON!

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Beachside Fellowship Church, 17601 Ashley Dr., Panama City Beach on Friday, May 5 at 9:00 AM. The Celebration of Life will be followed by a Graveside Memorial at 3:00 PM at the Greenwood Cemetery on US Highway 84 in Cairo, GA.
