Funeral services for Roger Gainous, Sr., 87, of Cairo, GA, are at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Rev. Jim Weaver will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mr. Gainous passed away at Grady General Hospital, Cairo , GA, on Sunday, July 28, 2019.

Active pallbearers will be Garrett Gainous, Johnson Gainous, Lee Gainous, Jeremy Gainous, Glen Hester and Brandon Brock. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Ashley Register, Neil Hester, Jimmy Beasley, Mike Beasley, Robert Beasley, Marcus Beasley, Marty Drew and Willard Powe.

Mr. Gainous was born on February 28, 1932, in Cairo, GA, to the late Alex Gainous and Pearl Lee Gainous. On September 1, 1955 he married Annie Marie Beasley Gainous, who survives. He was a farmer and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include: his wife of 63 years, Annie Marie Gainous of Cairo, GA; sons, Roger Gainous, Jr. (Vickie) of Cairo, GA, Leon Gainous (Sharon) of Cairo, GA, Barry Gainous (Sherry) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Leslie Prince (Heath) of Cairo, GA, Jeremy Gainous (Brianna) of Bainbridge, GA, Gayla Gainous of Cairo, GA, Garrett Gainous of Cairo, GA; great-grandchildren, Caroline Gainous, Clara Prince, Aubree Gainous, Alex Gainous, AveryKate Gainous, and Conner Prince.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Quinn Gainous; and a sister, Ellen Hester.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Monday, July 29, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
