Rev. Stephen “Steve” Craig Singletary
July 18, 1950 – April 4, 2024

Funeral services for Rev. Steve Singletary, 73, of Whigham, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, April 7, 2024, at The Bridge Community Church, 253 Pleasant Grove Road, Cairo, GA 39827.  Craig Singletary will officiate.  Private interment will be in Providence Cemetery, Whigham, GA.  Rev. Singletary passed away at Grady General Hospital, Cairo, GA, on Thursday, April 4, 2024.

Active pallbearers will be Dean Robertson, Bo Harrell, Kevin Singletary, Vic Williams, Willie Williams and Curtis King.  Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Ponder, Bobby Woodell, Tom Williams, Joe Morgan, Jay Roach, Billy Godwin, Alvin Barfield, Jim Fielding, David Harvey, Pete Boshart and Bill Shirley.

Rev. Singletary was born on July 18, 1950, in Cairo, GA, to the late Johnny Ledford Singletary and Bernice Walden Singletary.  On July 11, 1970, he married Melinda Simpson, who survives.

An ordained minister for many years, he was currently the pastor at The Bridge Community Church.  For many years, he worked at Harvey’s as the Meat Market Manager and later worked at Sun-Stop.  He was also the lead singer for The Singletary Family.

R Survivors include:  his wife, Melinda Simpson Singletary; sons, Craig Singletary (Kasie), Jody Singletary (Michael); grandchildren, Ella Singletary, Greyson Singletary, Marley Robinson, Drew Singletary, Eden Singletary; sisters, Connie Clark (Dennis), Cheryl Sellers (Mike); brothers, Roger Singletary (Anita), Sidney Singletary (Stacey); all of Whigham, GA; nieces and nephews, Kevin Singletary (Melinda), Cori Griffin (Bo), Cali Bradley (Junior), Michaela Singletary, Elly Kate Singletary, Josh Sellers (Wendi), Brett Sellers (Charlene), Rainey Williams (Clint), Bishop Singletary and Bryson Singletary; mother-in-law, Ione Wilkes, all of Whigham, GA.  He is also survived by a host of other extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by:  his parents; and a nephew, Daryle Singletary.

The family will receive friends immediately following the funeral service.
