Pearl Miller Cliett
September 22, 1922 – September 16, 2021

Pearl Miller Cliett, 98, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully on September 16, 2021 at the Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville, Georgia. She was born on September 22, 1922 in Whigham, Georgia to Jessie Parker Miller and Annie Mae (Brown) Miller. She was the fifth of six children born to Jessie and Annie.

On February 24, 1940, she married the love of her life, Roscoe Imore Cliett with whom she would spend the next 71 years of her life. The couple settled in Grady County, Georgia where they had two children whom they adored: Larry Dean Cliett and Julia “Judy” Ann (Cliett) Cox.

Pearl was a devout follower of Jesus Christ and a faithful member of the Tired Creek Primitive Baptist Church. She was also deeply devoted to her family. She was often seen alongside Roscoe helping in his construction projects and caring for her sisters when they were sick.

Pearl believed in the value of work and credited hard work for allowing her to live to such an advanced age. She worked as a beautician for many years in a little beauty shop Roscoe built for her beside their home in Cairo, Georgia. Her work in the beauty shop allowed her to build lasting relationships. She also loved working in her garden and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her infant brother; her sisters, Lula Lucille Miller, Estelle Allen, Floy Hurst Dove and Pauline Crawford; and great granddaughter, Brooke Chapman. Also, her step-mother Aurelia B. Miller, her step-sister Furman Garland, and son-in-law Ronnie M. Cox, Sr.

She is survived by her son, Larry Dean Cliett (Beverly) of Cairo, GA; daughter, Judy Cox of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Angie Long, Cumming, GA, Amy Robbins (Travis), Saratoga Springs, UT, Laurie Chapman (Jim), Elba, AL, Jessica Lee (Mark), Cairo, GA and Ron Cox, Jr. (Lisa), Lake Havasu City, AZ; great-grandchildren,  Alex, Nicholas and Sidney Grace Long, Stephen (Savannah), Jacob (Aubrie), Caroline, Katherine, Elizabeth Pearl, Audrey and George Robbins, Bradley Chapman, Kristen, Abbey, Cale, Carson and Chloe Lee, Tristan and Braden Cox; and brother-in-law, Saint Elmo Harrison, Whigham, GA.

Services will be held on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at 2:00pm at Tired Creek Primitive Baptist Church, 1050 Tired Creek Road, Whigham, GA. Interment will be in the Tired Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
