Norma Louise Jones Stevens

Memorial services for Norma Louise Jones Stevens, 82, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 29, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1500 11th Ave. N. W., Cairo, GA, 39828. Father Godfred will officiate. Mrs. Stevens passed away at Grady General Hospital in Cairo, GA, on Tuesday, July 25, 2017.

Mrs. Stevens was born on November 30, 1934, in Mobile, AL, to the late Frank O’neal Jones and Irma Louise Highlands Jones. Mrs. Stevens had many options for residency near her family, they were constantly trying to get her to move closer to them, but she loved Cairo and chose to reside there. She worked many years in the cafeteria at Torrington Company and was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Cairo. Her family and friends affectionately knew her as Granny Norma.

Survivors include: daughters, Victoria Denise Gonzales (Dan), Debra Robertson (Dean); sons, Stephen Alan Cochran, John O’neal Cochran (Rebecca), Phillip Gainous; grandchildren, Christopher Daniel Gonzales, Shelane Marie Francisco, Christina Michelle Johnston (Wes), Amanda Kay McCarty (Brian), Josh Robertson; great-grandchildren, John Daniel Francisco, Matthew Conner Walden, Corbin Tyler McCarty, Michael Cullen Walden, Shelby Erin McCarty, Madison Jillian Walden, Zachary Blue McCarty, Toby Roy Johnston; and close family friend, Etta May Garland Davis.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; and sister, Irma Catherine Jones.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
