Funeral services for Nila June Franks Kines, 83, of Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 3, 2025, at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel, Cairo, GA. Rev. Robert Crapps will officiate. Services will conclude at the chapel. Private interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mrs. Kines passed away at Magnolia Place Senior Living on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.

Mrs. Kines was born on June 22, 1942, in Birmingham, AL, to the late Leetus Franks and Annice Matthews Franks. On March 22, 1963, she married James Gerald “Jerry” Kines, Sr., who preceded her in death on October 31, 2012. They were married for almost 50 years. She started her early working career as a legal secretary in a law firm. She retired as a paraprofessional from the Grady County Board of Education. She was a member of Capel Baptist Church in Cairo.

Survivors include: grandchildren, Shelley Lyn Kines Holt (Chris) of Thomasville, GA, Braden James Kines of Whigham, GA; brothers, Mack Franks (Vicky) of Trussville, AL, Eddie Franks (Laurie) of Odenville, AL; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Carleen Dyson of Whigham, GA, Tom Kines of Cairo, GA, Diane Kines of Jacksonville, FL, Rick Kines (Debbie) of Cairo, GA, Tim Kines (Jessica) of Whigham, GA, Sam Kines (Beth) of Cairo, GA, Jeanie Kines of Marietta, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; and her children, Jimmy Kines and Vicky Lynn Kines.

Memorials may be made in Mrs. Kines’ memory to: Capel Baptist Church, 1041 Capel Road, Cairo, GA 39827.

The family expresses their appreciation to her loving caregivers, Mary and Tammy, and the staff of Magnolia Place Senior Living of Cairo for providing a loving home for Mrs. Kines for over 10 years.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home immediately following the service.
