Mrs. Carmen Harrison was born on November 18, 1977, in Douglas, GA, to Dwight Scofield Leroy and Wanda Lewis Leroy.  She was a graduate of the University of Georgia and remained an active Bulldog fan throughout her life. On June 23, 2001, she married Tracy Harrison, who survives. She was first a devoted mother to her three boys, never missing a milestone in their lives. She was also a teacher, most recently a middle school teacher at Whigham School where she loved teaching science (with Chewy the bearded dragon at her side). She taught with passion and excitement, touching the lives of every student who passed through her classroom. Carmen also dedicated her life to music; she was a beloved member of the Cairo First Assembly of God where she served selflessly as the worship leader. On her own time, she could be found writing songs, playing the piano, watching the Braves and Bulldogs, being a goofball with her friends, joining in impromptu jam sessions with her family, and admiring God’s best creation in her eyes—the sunset.

Survivors include: her husband, Tracy Harrison of Cairo, GA; children, Jacob Harrison, Isaiah Harrison, Ben Harrison, all of Whigham, GA; parents, Dwight and Wanda Leroy of Dublin, GA; sister, Megan Leroy of Gainesville, FL; half sisters Tanya Marsh of Hillsboro, GA, and Tracy Jacob of Fripp Island, SC; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harry and Linda Harrison of Whigham, GA.

She was preceded in death by: her maternal grandparents, Eugene and Nina Lewis; and paternal grandparents, Coy and Margaret Leroy.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Mrs. Harrison’s memory to The Carmen Harrison STEAM Scholarship, First National Bank of Cairo, ATTN: Donica Williams, P. O. Box 180, Cairo, GA  39828.

The family will receive friends at Family Worship Center on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
