Myra Annette Horton Ezell
October 3, 1945 – August 2, 2023

Funeral services for Myra Annette Horton Ezell, 77, of Cairo, GA, are at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Clark Funeral Home Chapel, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Mike Everson will officiate.  Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.  Mrs. Ezell passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Wednesday, August 2, 2023.

Mrs. Ezell was born on October 3, 1945, in Thomasville, to the late Henry J. Horton, Sr. and Lois Barfield Horton.  On May 20, 1983, she married Paul Wendell Ezell, who preceded her in death on May 9, 2010.’  She was a native of Grady County where she worked in customer service with Family Dollar until her retirement.  Annette was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt.  She loved helping others and was a friend to many. She lived on Peebles Still Road for 76 years before moving to Senior Living apartment in her later years.  She was a member of Pine Level Baptist Church.

Survivors include:  Myra D. Simmons (Ron) of Statesboro, GA, Jeff Ezell (Lisa) of Cairo, GA, Pete Ezell (Vickie) of Cairo, GA, Sherry Smith (Marty) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Brent L. Simmons of Edgewater, FL, Austin C. Simmons of Statesboro, GA; great-grandchild, Aurora Belle Simmons of Edgewater, FL; brother and sister-in-law, Danny Ezell (Lenoir) of Cairo, GA and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Paul Wendell Ezell; her sisters, Thelma Ginn, Dorothy Butler, Geneva Avant, Agnes Wilson, Bobby Brinkley, Dean Britt and Louise Womble; and her brothers, Jr. Horton and Alton Horton.
