Maurice Lee Connell
February 15, 1920 – February 12, 2023

Funeral services for Maurice Lee Connell, 102, of Reno, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Marshall Singletary will officiate.  Services will conclude at the chapel.  Private interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA.

Active pallbearers will be Ricky Fulford, Shannon Ulmer, Jeff Clotfelter, Bryan Clark, Keith Harrison and Carroll Hopkins.  Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Hopkins, Walter Maxwell and Terry Whigham.

Maurice Lee Connell was born February 15,1920 and passed away peacefully on February 12, 2023.  She was the daughter of Alvie and Effie Rehberg Lee.  She married Grover C. “Bill” Connell, Jr., on March 23, 1940, and they shared a wonderful life of 73 years. She was a lifelong member of Bethel United Methodist Church.

She had a tremendous love of family, friends and beautiful flowers and always had a smile for everyone.  She leaves behind many loved ones who will honor her life, the lessons she taught, the example she set and will keep her legacy alive.  Hers was a life well lived.

She is survived by: her daughters, Julia Ann Algiere of Moultrie, GA, Mary  Ellen Morrissey of Allen, TX, Brenda Clotfelter (Wayne) of Tallahassee, FL; her grandchildren, Richard M. “Rick” Fulford, Jr. (Tonya) of Tallahassee, FL, Shannon Ulmer (Holly) of Frisco, TX, Michelle F. Goff (Rickey) of Moultrie, GA, Jeff Clotfelter, Tori Clark (Bryan) of Tallahassee, FL, Candace Morrissey of Joshua, TX; 11 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by: her parents; husband; sons-in-law, Robert Algiere and Steven Morrissey; sisters, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Martha & Buryl Harrison, Jane and Ellis Maxwell, and Burma and LB Connell, Majorie and Rob Chambliss, Rosa and Judson Whigham, Rebecca and Tom Wheeler, Frank Connell and Earl Connell.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
