Leverne was born on October 24, 1941, in Cairo, GA, to the late Charlie Perry Rehberg and Maude Leu Hopkins Rehberg. She received her bachelor’s and specialist degrees in education from the University of Georgia in Athens. She retired as the head guidance counselor from Westover High School in Albany, where she served for more than 32 years, touching countless lives with her encouragement, compassion, and belief in her students. She was of the Methodist faith.
Known affectionately as “Charlie” by family and friends, she poured her heart into her loved ones after retirement. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother—cheering from the sidelines at soccer games, clapping proudly at dance recitals, and making every moment count. She also enjoyed traveling and exploring new places, always treasuring the simple joys of life.
The family will receive friends at Phillip Drew’s home on Monday, September 15, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
