Funeral services for Maneus Fredrick Courtney, 81, of Cairo, GA, are at 3:00 p.m., Monday, April 12, 2021, in Capel Baptist Church Cemetery, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Stan Godwin and Rev. Haskell White will officiate.  Mr. Courtney passed away at his daughter’s home on Friday, April 9, 2021.

Mr. Courtney was born on November 23, 1939, in Cairo, GA, to the late Arthur D. Courtney and Margaret Prince Courtney.  Maneus was married to Sarah Stewart Courtney, who preceded him in death on June 23, 2002.  He was the store manager for the Colonial Grocery Store (Big Star) in Adel, GA for many years.  He was a member of Capel Baptist Church in Cairo.

Survivors include: children, Art Courtney (Christie) of Cairo, GA, Joy Courtney Hickey of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Courtney Morrison, Brock Morrison, Garrison Courtney (Tanner), Parker Courtney, Judson Hickey (Kayla), all of Cairo, GA; sister, Alice McCorkle (Larry) of Cairo, GA; and nephews and nieces, Keith Lacy (Alicia) of Cairo, GA, Frankie Courtney (Jane) of Cairo, GA, Allison Bass (Joel) of Cairo, GA, Laura Brinkley (Ben) of Tallahassee, FL.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Sarah Stewart Courtney; and siblings, Catherine C. Lacy, Frank Courtney.
