Graveside funeral services for Laverne Lowe Pelham, 78, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 5, 2026, in Pine Park Baptist Church Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Pastor Johnny H. Moore will officiate. Mrs. Pelham passed away at Archbold Living-Cairo on Monday, March 2, 2026.

Mrs. Pelham was born on May 22, 1947, in Cairo, GA, to the late Edgar Lowe, Sr. and Pauline Kincaid Lowe. She was married to Jim Pelham, who preceded her in death. In the earlier years, she was employed in kindergarten education with Morningside Methodist Child Care in Thomasville. She retired from Archbold Memorial Hospital after 30 years of employment in the coding and credentialing department. She was a member of Pine Park Baptist Church.

Laverne enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and found fulfillment tending to her flowers and making her gardens beautiful. She also had an endearing love for her miniature poodle, Lacey. Laverne enjoyed a good cup of coffee and inherited a love for western films and TV from her father.

Survivors include: her children, Cindy Trawick of Cairo, GA, Brad Johnson (Kelli) of Perry, FL, Brian Johnson (Tabatha) of Thomasville, GA; grandchildren, Dylan Trawick of Cairo, GA, Hailee Wells (Luke) of Cairo, GA, Colby Trawick (Allie) of Cairo, GA, Bradynn Johnson of Perry, FL, Kamrynn Johnson of Perry, FL, Layla Cooper of Valdosta, GA; great grandchildren, Braxton Wells, Walker Wells; siblings, Martha Wilson of Pavo, GA, Edgar Lowe, Jr. of Savannah, GA, Carl Lowe of Leesburg, GA; special friend, Fred Manning of Thomasville, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Edgar and Pauline Lowe; husband, Jim Pelham; and a brother, Vernon James Lowe.
