Funeral services for Keith Edmund Campbell, 85, of Cairo, GA, are at 3:00 p.m., Friday, May 8, 2026, at the Cairo First Methodist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Dr. Bill Baker will officiate. Services will conclude at the church. Private interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Keith passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
Keith was born on November 10, 1940, to his loving parents, the late Roy E. Campbell and Julia Tankersley Campbell, and was raised in Whitmire, SC. In 1960, he entered the United States Army, where he proudly served his country through the National Guard. On March 10, 1962, he married Sheila Jacks Campbell of Joanna, SC. They shared more than 64 wonderful years of marriage and built a beautiful life centered on faith, family and devotion. Keith and Sheila moved to Cairo, Georgia with their two children in 1976 where they created countless memories with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He retired from the Torrington Company in Cairo, Georgia, where he worked as an engineer for many years. Keith was a member of the Cairo First Methodist Church.
Keith was a man of many talents and hobbies. He enjoyed falconry, motorcycles, radio-controlled airplanes, ultralight airplanes, and spending time working in his machine shop, where his creativity and craftsmanship shined. He had a deep appreciation for nature and could identify nearly every bird, snake, mammal, and insect he encountered. His curiosity, intelligence, and ability to build and create made him truly one of a kind.
Above all, Keith loved his family. He especially treasured time spent with his two granddaughters and his four great-grandchildren, who brought him endless joy.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila Jacks Campbell of Cairo, GA; son, Brett Campbell (Cheri) of Cairo, GA; granddaughters, Brittney Heard (Jace) Cairo, GA, Erin Jones (Bradley) of Cairo, GA; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Heard, Easton Heard, Campbell Jones, Ella Jones, all of Cairo, GA; sister, Barbara Templeton of Clinton, SC; brother, Mark Campbell (Shelia) of Newberry, SC; brother-in-law, Dave Born of Spencer, NY and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Julia Campbell, his daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Campbell, sister, Robin Born, and brother-in-law, Mack Templeton.

The family will receive friends at the Cairo First Methodist Church immediately following the service in the sanctuary. Friends are invited to stop by and visit in the home of Keith and Sheila.
