Joe Brown Simpson

Graveside funeral services for Joe Brown Simpson, 82, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 17, 2023, in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA.  Pastor Johnny H. Moore will officiate.  Mr. Simpson passed away at his home on Thursday, April 13, 2023.

Mr. Simpson was born on February 26, 1941, in Tabor City, NC, to the late Joe Simpson, Sr. and Christine Davis Simpson.  On June 10, 1962, he married Olivia Trotman Simpson, who preceded him in death on October 14, 2020.   They were married for 58 years.  Joe was a paint and auto body shop manager.  He was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church in Cairo.

Survivors include: son, Joseph Simpson of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Jodi Phillips (Greg) of Cairo, GA, Joseph Simpson, Travis Simpson, both of Cairo, GA; great-grandchildren, Taylor Persing, Allison Persing, Hunter Phillips, Dawson Phillips, all of Cairo, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife; son, Travis Simpson; brothers and sisters, Clara Brown, Opal Corbin, Betty Sue Simpson and Mac Simpson.
