JoAnn McNair Butler
September 25, 1932 – March 2, 2023

Funeral services for JoAnn McNair Butler, 90, of Calvary, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 6, 2023, at the Calvary Methodist Church, Calvary, GA.  Rev. Marshall Singletary and Alan Rodemoyer will officiate.  Services will conclude at the church. Private family interment will be in Piedmont Cemetery, Calvary, GA.  Mrs. Butler passed away at Magnolia Place Senior Living in Cairo, GA, on Thursday, March 2, 2023.

Active pallbearers will be Bradley Jones, Charles Oliver, Craig Elrod, Chris Hagan, Bert Hartsfield and Bob Maxwell.

Mrs. Butler was born on September 25, 1932, in Birmingham, AL, to the late Joe McNair and Ella Maxwell McNair.  On September 11, 1954, she married to Charles Bell Butler, who preceded her in death on May 17, 2010.  They were married for over 55 years.  She was a teacher and bookkeeper for many years.  JoAnn was a Trustee of the Roddenbery Memorial Library and a Board Member of Capital City Bank of Cairo.  She was a devoted member of the Calvary Methodist Church and served in positions over the years.

Survivors include: her daughters, Diane Jones (Bob) of Cairo, GA, Karen Bishop (Mark) of Cairo, GA, Lisa Oliver (Lewis) of Calvary, GA; grandchildren, Stacey Elrod (Craig) of McDonough, GA, Bradley Jones (Erin) of Cairo, GA, Charles Oliver (Rachel) of Tallahassee, FL, Emily Hagan (Chris) of Tallahassee, FL, Kellie Bishop of Cairo, GA, Kacey Oliver of Cairo, GA; great-grandchildren, Peyton, Nash, Campbell, Ella, Charlee, Lew, Huxley, Oliver; sister, Frances McNaughton (Charlie) of Grandy, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; son, Mac Butler; grandson, Luke Oliver; and a sister, Ellen Moo.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Butler’s memory to:  Calvary Methodist Church, P. O. Box 59, Calvary, GA  39829; or Roddenbery Memorial Library, 320 North Broad Street, Cairo, GA 39828.

The family will receive friends at JoAnn’s home on Sunday, March 5, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
