James William Jones

Funeral services for James William Jones, 78, of Ochlocknee, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 6, 2021, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Mark Herrington and Rev. Daryl Owens will officiate.  Interment will be in Butler Cemetery, Whigham, GA.  Mr. Jones passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Monday, May 3, 2021.

Mr. Jones was born on December 20, 1942, in Cairo, GA, to the late William Hardy Jones and Ethel Lillian Cannon Jones.  On June 10, 1968, he married Susan Mikell Jones, who survives.  They were married for 52 years.  He was owner and operator of Jones Maintenance Service.  He was a member of New Hope Holiness Church of Thomasville, GA.

Survivors include: his wife, Susan Jones of Ochlocknee, GA; brother, Jesse Jones of Coolidge, GA; sister, Joyce Baxter (James) of Coolidge, GA; nieces and nephew, Becky Miller (Jerry), Cathy Slater, Steve Slater, all of Coolidge, GA; and extended family members, Bonnie and Gary Keen of Old Town, FL, Vickie and Richard Roberts of Perry, FL.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; baby daughter, Loretta Sue Jones; sister, Betty Rena Jones; and a brother, Danny Jones.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Thursday, May 6, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
