Hiram Forace “Hoss” Baggett

Funeral services for Hiram Forace “Hoss” Baggett, 78, of Whigham, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Gordon Heights Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. William Hurst will officiate. Services will conclude at the church. Interment will be in Providence Community Cemetery, Whigham, GA. Mr. Baggett passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Sunday, October 26, 2025.

Active pallbearers will be Jose “Ricky” Trevino, Bradley Barber, Lee Johnson, Nathan Johnson, Fisher Miller and David Baggett.

Mr. Baggett was born on April 8, 1947, in Whigham, GA, to the late Hiram Monroe “Joby” Baggett and Annie Dora Clayton Baggett. He was married to Nancy Jane Baggett, who survives. He retired as the meat market manager at Davis IGA. He was a deacon at Our Fathers House Church in Cairo. Mr. Baggett was a man who loved the Lord, his family and friends, singing, playing guitar, writing, and fishing.

Survivors include: his wife, Nancy Jane Baggett of Whigham, GA; special nieces, Shelley Marie Johnson (Lee) of Ochlocknee, GA, Brooklyn Marie Miller (Fisher) of Cairo, GA, Chloe Jane Gomez, and Emersyn Cade Miller; brothers, Ronnie Michael Baggett (Donna) of Hayesville, NC, Stanley Adair Baggett (Sharon) of Quincy, FL, Allen Monroe Baggett (Geraldine) of Whigham, GA; sister, Muriel Straughn of Quincy, FL; and a host of brother and sister in laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
