General McArthur “Mac” Barfield
October 15, 1943 – April 13, 2021

Funeral services for General McArthur “Mac” Barfield, 77, of Cairo, GA, are at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 16, 2021, at First Free Will Baptist Church, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Eric Mitchell will officiate.  Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Thomasville, GA.  Mr. Barfield passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Tuesday, April 13, 2021.

Active pallbearers will be James Edenfield, Robbie Singletary, Brad Barfield, Daniel Singletary, David Singletary and Jeff Smith.

Mr. Barfield was born on October 15, 1943, in Cairo, GA, to the late Jesse E. “JE” Barfield and Dolly Sadler Barfield.  On March 31, 1978, he married Teresa “Terri” Dawn Burdette Barfield, who preceded him in death on April 26, 2017. Mac was the owner and operator of Barfield Tile.  He was a master tile setter with over 50 years of service to commercial and residential builders and homeowners.  Mac was an avid bass fisherman and pool player.  He was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Cairo.

Survivors include: sons, Joshua Hank Barfield of Cairo, GA, Jesse Samuel Barfield of Cairo, GA; daughters, Marsha Ann Faulk (Kenny) of Kathleen, GA, Malissa Adams (Steve) of Newborn, GA; grandchildren, Jessica King of Madison, GA, Erica Ozburn of McDonough, GA, Kristin Mulkey of Athens, GA, Jake Monk of Madison, GA, Jennifer Monk of Madison, GA; great-grandchildren, Katrina Ozburn of Covington, GA, Stacey King, Levi King, Ethan King all of Madison, GA, Jaelen Marlyere of Grayson, GA, Sophia Cantero of Madison, GA, Noah Cantero of Madison, GA; brothers, Tom Barfield (Lynn) of Moultrie, GA, Alvin Barfield (Sybil) of Cairo, GA, Willard Barfield (Shirley) of Cairo, GA; sisters, Emma Edenfield of Cairo, GA, Gussie Nix (Jesse) of Cairo, GA, Linda Griffin (William) of Valdosta, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.  He was preceded in death by his parents and  his wife.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Barfield’s memory to: First Freewill Baptist Church, 7th Ave. NE, Cairo, GA.

The family will receive friends at First Freewill Baptist Church on Thursday, April 15, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
