Funeral services for Gene Autry Dukes, 88, of Cairo, GA, are at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 8, 2026, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA. Dr. Ken Leggett and William Tuggle will officiate. Military Honors will be presented at the chapel. Services will conclude at the chapel. Private interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Mr. Dukes passed away at his home on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

Active pallbearers will be Jackie Dukes, RJ Dukes, Jake Ludecke, Bryden Avery, Rob Avery, Tim Moore and Pearson Dukes

Mr. Dukes was born on June 4, 1938, in Cairo, GA, to the late Howard Dukes and Trudie Godwin Dukes. He served his country in the United States Army. On October 5, 1956, he married Hazel Lawrence Dukes, who preceded him in death on June 7, 2010. He was a retired carpenter.

Survivors include: his children, Lisa Odum (James) of Cairo, GA, Ronald H. Dukes (Lisa) of Cairo, GA, Donna Joiner (Alan) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Robbie Dukes (Alison) of Thomasville, GA, Brittany Ludecke (Jake) of Cairo, GA, Brandon Joiner (Lynn) of Whigham, GA, Casey Avery (Rob) of Cairo, GA, Cameron Blake Odum (Sara) of Thomasville, GA; great-grandchildren, R. J. Dukes of Thomasville, GA, Pearson Dukes of Thomasville, GA, Isabella Dukes of Thomasville, GA, Ronan Dukes of Thomasville, GA, Brylee Wryn of Thomasville, GA, Gabriel Ludecke, Nathan Ludecke, both of Cairo, GA, Bentley Usery, Bryden Avery, both of Cairo, GA, Katelyn of Whigham, Noah Odum, Harley Mae Odum, both of Cairo, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Howard and Trudie Dukes; his wife, Hazel Dukes; and siblings, Joel Edward Dukes, Howard Dukes, Jr. and Braxton Dukes.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home immediately following the service.
