GeDelle Ponder Humphreys
August 9, 1932 – July 3, 2025

Memorial services for GeDelle Ponder Humphreys, 92, of Cairo, GA, will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel, Cairo, GA. Rev. Chris Allen and Rev. Ron McCaskill will officiate. Services will conclude at the chapel. Private interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mrs. Humphreys passed from this life to her eternal heavenly home surrounded by family members in Atlanta, GA, on Thursday, July 3, 2025. She was dearly loved and loved others unconditionally. Her faith in Jesus Christ as Lord, and Savior was the guiding force in her life always.

She was born on August 9, 1932, in Cairo, GA, to the late Robert Carl Ponder and Gladys VanLandingham Ponder. She graduated from what is now known as Georgia Southern University and received her masters degree from Florida State University. On March 27, 1966, she married Thomas Neal Humphreys, who preceded her in death on December 6, 2011. She retired as an insurance agent with Macintyre & Edwards, Inc. and Caldwell & Langford, both of Thomasville. She was a member of the Cairo First Baptist Church and she served as financial secretary of the Christ Church in Cairo.

Survivors include: her sons, William Kenneth Humphreys (Nora), Thomas Neal Humphreys (Erin) of Lawrenceville, GA; grandchildren, Adam Humphreys (Jennifer) of Marietta, GA, Melia Graham of Las Vegas, NV, Corrine, Delaney, and Lindsey Humphreys of Lawrenceville, GA; great-grandchildren, Addison Humphreys, Lorilai Humphreys, both of Marietta, GA and Sage Graham of Las Vegas; sisters, Jane Poole of Cairo, GA, Grace Hinson of Jacksonville, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; Carl and Gladys Ponder; husband, Thomas Neal Humphreys; and a brother, Robert Carl Ponder, Jr.

The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service at the chapel.
