Funeral services for Francisca Turrubiartez Cortez, 70, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Cairo, GA. Father Godfred will officiate. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mrs. Cortez passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Friday, December 19, 2025.

Mrs. Cortez was born on February 16, 1955, in Raymondville, TX, to the late Nicholas Turrubiartez and Maria Conception Quiroz Turrubiartez. She was married to Reynaldo “Ray” Cortez, Sr. She was a laborer in the agricultural industry. She was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include: her husband, Reynaldo “Ray” Cortez, Sr. of Cairo, GA; son, Ray Cortez, Jr. of Cairo, GA; siblings, Rosita Turrubiartez, Gloria Turrubiartez, both of Immokalee, FL, Maria Del Carmen of Naples, FL, Nicholas Turrubiartez, Sr., Arturo Turrubiartez, Adam Turrubiartez, Jose Luis Turrubiartez, all of Immokalee, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; and siblings, Alejandro Hernandez, Rudolfo Turrubiartez, Juan Manuel Turrubiartez and George Turrubiartez.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Monday, December 22, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
