Memorial services for Edward Lee Thomas, Sr., 77, of Cairo, GA, are at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 16, 2026, at First Freewill Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Skeeter Weeks will officiate. Mr. Thomas passed away at his home on Sunday, July 12, 2026.

Mr. Thomas was born on June 25, 1949, in Lakeland, FL, to the late William McKinley Thomas and Ethylene Trulock Thomas. On Dec. 23, 1991, he married Lori Marquis Thomas. They have been married for over 34 years. He retired as a truck driver. He was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Cairo.

Survivors include: his wife, Lori Thomas of Cairo, GA; children, Clinton Lee Thomas (Brittany) of Cairo, GA, Kelli Lynn McElreath (Matt) of Cairo, GA, Bradley Keith Long (Lucy) of Whigham, GA, Edward Dale Thomas (Anita) of Cairo, GA, Danny Lee Thomas (Sandy) of Cairo, GA, Donna Osborn (Jeff) of Cairo, GA, Edward Lee Thomas, Jr. (Tommie Ann) of Cairo, GA; 18 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren; siblings: Imajene Fussell of Polk City, FL, A.J. Thomas of Cairo, GA, Jackie Thomas of Cairo, GA, Billy Thomas of Oregon, Dale Thomas of New York, Ola Mae Grubbs of Perry, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; and siblings, Hazel Bodiford, Patsy Ezell, Madeline Smith, Douglas Thomas, Georgia Faye Thomas, Henry Thomas, Rachel Tilley.

The family will receive friends at Cairo First Freewill Baptist Church immediately following the memorial service.
