Dr. Graham was born on April 17, 1943, in Coolidge, GA, to the late J B Graham and Elizabeth Morris Graham. On December 20, 1965, he married Brenda Knight Graham, and they have been married for 60 years. They moved to Cairo in 1968 when Dr. Graham began working at Cairo Animal Hospital with Dr. Eugene Maddox.

He was a veterinarian who served his friends and clients with tenderness and skill. He sought to treat animals both large and small with kindness and respect, but was also very concerned about their owners. He cautioned his clients to be sure and take care of themselves. Dr. Graham was lovingly known as “Doc” to his many friends.

Dr. Graham was a member of the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association as well as South Georgia Veterinary Medical Association of which he served as president in 1993. He also worked tirelessly for years with the Georgia Veterinary Medical Foundation and was an active member of American Veterinary Medical Association. Locally, he served over 25 years as a member, and several years as chairman, of the Cairo Housing Authority. In 2017 he was chosen as Veterinarian of the Year by the Georgia Cattlemen’s Association.

Most importantly, he loved serving the Lord through First Baptist Church of Cairo. He taught adults in Sunday School, was chairman of numerous committees, and served as deacon becoming chairman of deacons several times and deacon emeritus in 2024.
