Doris Massey Waddell
September 25, 1931 – February 28, 2024

Funeral services for Doris Massey Waddell, 92, of Tifton, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Jimmy Weaver will officiate.  Interment will be in the Cairo Cemetery.  Mrs. Waddell passed away in Tifton, GA, on Wednesday, February 28, 2024.

Active pallbearers will be grandsons, grandson-in-law and great-grandsons: Josh Massey, Scott Gainous, Mark Morrell, Chad Morrell, Jase Lynn, Conner Morrell, Hunter Morrell, Adam Gordon and Austin Mobley.

Mrs. Waddell was born on September 25, 1931, in Cairo, GA, to the late Almond H. Willis and Ethel Rigsby Willis.  On June 15, 1950, she married Hubert Bailey Massey, Sr., who preceded her in death on July 25, 1983.  She was employed as the senior bookkeeper for the W. B. Roddenbery Company for over 40 years.  She was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Clarksville, GA.

Survivors include: her children, Cindy Morrell (John Mark) of Cairo, GA; Hubert Massey, Jr. (Martha) of Tifton, GA, Cheryl Harrison (Keith) of Climax, GA; stepchildren, Pamela Walsh of Havana, FL, Connie Waddell of the Bahamas, Mark Waddell of Hawaii; grandchildren, Josh Massey (Brigid) of St. Augustine, FL, Kelly Gordon (Adam) of Perry, GA, Jeri Lynn (Jason) of Whigham, GA, Dori Griffin (Keith) of Whigham, GA, Scott Gainous of Cairo, GA, Michelle Mobley of Cairo, GA, Mark Morrell of Cairo, GA, Chad Morrell (Natelie) of Cairo, GA; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Lily, Emmarie, Jase, Morgan, Ansley, Kaleigh, Austin, Clara Kate, Conner, Hunter, Adrianna, Karlee; great-great-grandchild, Leilani; sister, Esther Lawrence of Tallahassee, FL; sister-in-law, Betty Ragan of Cairo, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husbands, Hubert Bailey Massey, Sr.; James “Jim” Robert Waddell, who preceded her in death on September 14, 1997; brothers, George Willis, Brim Willis, Jasper Willis; and sisters, Orstiene Taylor, Clara White.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home immediately following the funeral service.
