David Orel Lee
August 30, 1943 – May 2, 2026

Funeral services for David Orel Lee, 82, of Cairo, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Eastside Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Chris Allen and Rev. Matt Vickers will officiate. Military Honors will be presented at the church. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Cairo, GA. Mr. Lee passed away at his home on Saturday, May 2, 2026.

Active pallbearers will be Christopher Lee, Noah Lee, Bobby Sealy, Sr., Rhett Wilson, Jeff Curry and Jeff Raulerson. Honorary pallbearers will be David’s fellow umpires and referees that he worked with over the years.

Mr. Lee was born on August 30, 1943, in San Diego, CA, to the late Orel Cecil Lee and Eva Leona Barker Lee. He severed his country in the United States Air Force. On June 12, 1987, he married Peggy Sue Corbin Lee. He was a retired mail carrier with the United States Postal Service. He was a devoted member of Eastside Baptist Church in Cairo.

David was known for his passion for umpiring and refereeing. He developed the Flint River Umpires Association for the surrounding counties. He considered the other referees and umpires as his brothers and sisters. Those friendships were so special to him over the years.

Survivors include: his loving wife of 38 years, Peggy Sue Lee of Cairo, GA; his children, Christopher Lee (Crystal) of Atlanta, GA, Lindsey Wilson (Rhett) of Tallahassee, FL; stepdaughter, Michelle Kolli (Kalyan) of Atlanta, GA; ten grandchildren; brother, Bobby Sealy of Lake City, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members.

The family will receive friends at Eastside Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
