David Harold Ezell
August 11, 1966 – February 17, 2026

Funeral services for David Harold Ezell, 59, of Whigham, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the Cairo Church of God, Cairo, GA. Pastor Mike Pillow and Pastor DeWayne Atkinson will officiate. Interment will be in Trinity Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Ezell passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

Active pallbearers will be Trey Ezell, DeWayne Sorrow, Mike Martin, Harley Ponder, Chris Shiver and Ken Ponder. Honorary pallbearers will be Zane Mirick, Darrell Cliett, Tim Fuller, Danny Ezell, Chris Hill, Paul Bearss, Donnie Ponder, Tommy Campbell, Thomas Avery and Jimmy Laing.

Mr. Ezell was born on August 11, 1966, in Riverside, CA, to the late Harold Jerome Ezell and Martha Palmer Ezell. In September of 1997, he married Penny Ponder Ezell. They were married for over 28 years. He was a supervisor with the Georgia Department of Transportation. He was a member of the Cairo Church of God.

Survivors include: his wife, Penny Ponder Ezell of Whigham, GA; children, Trey Ezell (Lauren) of Thomasville, GA, Jeremy Ezell of Whigham, GA, Emilee Wolfe (Joseph) of Lawton, OK; grandchildren, Dylan Vann and Tayler Vann , both of Thomasville, GA; great-grandchild, Alana Vann of Thomasville, GA; mother, Martha Ezell of Cairo, GA; brother, Tim Ezell (Kim) of Climax, GA; and a host of extended family.

He was preceded in death by: his grandparents, W.L. and Vera Palmer, Paul and Myra Ezell; and his father, Harold Jerome Ezell.

The family will receive friends at the Cairo Church of God on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
