Clarine Hopkins Waldron
May 28, 1924 – January 27, 2023

Funeral services for Clarine Hopkins Waldron, 98, of Cairo, GA, are at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 31, 2023, in Pine Level Baptist Church, Cairo, GA. Rev. Danny Hendrix and her brother-in-law, Clayton Hudson will officiate.  Interment will be in Pine Forest Baptist Church Cemetery, Ochlocknee, GA.  Mrs. Waldron passed away at Grady General Hospital in Cairo, on Friday, January 27, 2023.

Active pallbearers will be Bob Somers, Charles Waldron, Chuck Abbott, Larry Prince, Philip Wilham, Kristen Waldron Doyle and Willard Powe.

Mrs. Waldron was born on May 28, 1924, in Pelham, GA, to the late Vance Griffin Hopkins and Sally Mae Adams Hopkins.  On July 26, 1942, she married Roland Francis Waldron and kept him for over 75 years!, until his death on March 25, 2018.  She and Roland returned to Cairo in 1975 and she continued working at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville as a Licensed Practical Nurse until her retirement.  She came to the Faith at an early age and was a faithful member of Pine Level Baptist Church.

Survivors include: daughters, Kay Somers (Bob) of Springfield, PA, Debi Abbott (Chuck) of Cairo, GA; daughter-in-law, Louise Waldron Foster (Thom) of OH; grandchildren, Kristen Waldron Doyle (Corey), Mark Waldron, Aron Foster, Ryan Foster, Nathan Foster, Colleen Somers, Charlene Flanagan (Mike), Tami Somers, Kara Somers, Ashley Somers, Kimberly Abbott Stratman (Tim), Kirk Abbott; great-grandchildren, Willow, Morgan, Kyle, Brittani, Collin, Darrin, Grayson, Scarlett and Shannon and extended family and church family.

She was a loving aunt to her nieces & nephews, twins, Merle & Merlene, David, Patricia, LaDon, Annette, Pauline, Lynell, Morris, Greg, Kim, Glen, Anna, Christopher, Cathie, Verla, HelenJean, LaDonna, Edwin, Charles and Diane.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, her husband, Roland Waldron, and a son, William Francis Waldron, and her six siblings.

Memorials may be made in Mrs. Waldron’s memory to: Pine Level Baptist Church, 298 Pine Level Road, Cairo, GA  39827; or Hospice of Southwest Georgia, 114 Mimosa Dr A, Thomasville GA 31792.

The family will receive friends in the Sanctuary of Pine Level Baptist Church on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
