Claranell Williams Larkin

Funeral services for Claranell Williams Larkin, 92, of Whigham, GA, are at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Whigham Baptist Church, Whigham, GA.  Rev. Tim Dudding and Rev. Steve Poppell will officiate.  Private interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.  Mrs. Larkin passed away at her home in Whigham, GA, on Sunday, October 8, 2023.

Active pallbearers will be: Wallace Bush, Chuck Williams, Butch Farmer, Robert Hopkins, Sam Cartwright and Vincent Cartwright, Jr.  Honorary pallbearers are Wes Whitfield, James Smith and Henry Williams.

Mrs. Larkin was born on September 14, 1931, in Calvary, GA, to the late Charles Thomas Williams and Lillie Mae Bryant Williams.  On December 7, 1962, she married Wendell Claude Larkin, who preceded her in death on April 13, 2015.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, ceramics, sewing and crafts.  Claranell was a member of Whigham Baptist Church, where she was active in several women’s groups, Sunday school leadership and multiple missions’ organizations.

Survivors include: her daughter, Alicia Larkin Cartwright (Vince) of Whigham, GA and granddaughter, Morgan Alayna New of Whigham, GA; nieces, Patricia Williams Bush (Wallace), of Calvary, GA and Gale Hopkins of Thomasville, GA; nephews Robert Hopkins (Kay) of Thomasville, Henry Williams (Debbie) of Brunswick, GA, Chuck Williams (Darlene) of Havana, FL, and Butch Farmer (Liz) of Tallahassee, FL.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; her son, Claude Michael Larkin; her grandson, Noah Larkin New; and seven brothers and sisters. She was the last and youngest sibling of a large and beautiful family.
