Cherie Vines Bishop
October 18, 1947 – February 26, 2022

Funeral services for Beverly Cherie Vines Bishop, 74, of Thomasville, GA, will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 3, 2022, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Ricky Whitley and Rev. Johnny Cooper will officiate.  Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA.  Mrs. Bishop passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA, on Saturday, February 26, 2022 following a short illness.

Pallbearers will be Clay Johnson, Coale Johnson, Eli Johnson, Danny Thomas, Stephen Vines, Joey Patrizi, Tommy Akridge, Brian Bishop, Jerry Maxwell, Roger Landrum, Vernon Jackson, Jr, Vernon Jackson, Max Allen, Church Whitaker, Shane Gossett and Greg McDaniel.

Mrs. Bishop was born on October 18, 1947, in Moultrie, GA, to the late Ernest Theron Vines, Jr. and Louise Monroe Vines.  On April 1, 1967, she married Douglas Carroll Bishop, who preceded her in death on May 16, 2012.  She worked as the switchboard operator with Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA.  She was a devoted member of Pineland Baptist Church in Thomasville, GA where she was a Sunday School teacher for the Senior Women, worked on Women On Mission and taught the GA’s.

Survivors include: her daughter, Lisa Bishop Johnson (Marty) of Fargo, GA, Charles “Chuck” Douglas Bishop (Jackie) of Thomasville, GA; grandchildren, Daniel Johnson of SC, Lee Johnson of ND, Clay Johnson of Dupont, GA, Coale Johnson of Homerville, GA, Eli Johnson of San Diego, CA, Cassandra Gibson (Jeremy) of Thomasville, GA; 11 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and one more due soon; sister, Pamela Coleman of Thomasville, GA; sisters in law, Marilyn Vines of Attapulgus, GA, Dell Delk of Cairo, GA, Paulette Williams of Cairo, GA, Frances Bishop of Cairo, GA, Freddie Bishop of Tallahassee, FL, Erlene Maxwell of Cairo, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Douglas Carroll Bishop; daughter, Barbara Lynn Bishop; and a brother, Stephen Craig Vines.

The family will receive friends at Pineland Baptist Church, 2031 E. Clay St, Thomasville, GA 31792, on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
