Billy Elkins
October 16, 1927 – December 8, 2020

Billy Elkins, 93, of Cairo, GA passed away at his residence on Tuesday morning, December 8, 2020.  Graveside funeral services will be on Friday, December 11, 2020, at Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, GA.  Rev. Ron McCaskill and Rev. Chris Allen will officiate.

Active pallbearers will be Kyle Joiner, Emery Hancock, Emerson Hancock, Will Elkins, David Clark, Richard Peyton, Cole Prince, Ken LeGette, Bob LeGette and Jack Drew.

Mr. Elkins was born on October 16, 1927, in Cairo, GA, to the late Ivey R. Elkins and Hattie Brady Elkins.  On July 18, 1954, he married the late Martha Ruth Elkins.  He was a graduate of the University of Georgia, where he majored in Agriculture.  He was an employee of Graco Fertilizer for 43 years, where he retired in 1998.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cairo.

Survivors include: daughter, Mona Hancock (Don) of Cairo, GA; son, Bill Elkins (Paige) of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Kyle Joiner of Cairo, GA, Brin Joiner of Thomasville, GA, Emery Hancock of Savannah, GA, Emerson Hancock of Cairo, GA, Caroline Elkins of Cairo, GA, Will Elkins of Cairo, GA; brother, David Elkins (Mary Catherine) of Cairo, GA; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Elkins, Jean Elkins, both of Cairo, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Martha Ruth Elkins; his daughters, Amanda Elkins, Molly Elkins Joiner; his sister, Martha Harrell; and brothers, Pierce Elkins, Jimmy Elkins, Lavaughn Elkins, Frank Elkins.

The family wishes to extend their love and appreciation for Billy’s special caregivers: Telisa Washington, Diamond Ash, Aleah Harris, Debbie Williams, Elnita Brady, JazzLynn Wade and Courtney Williams.
