Billie Jo Chandler Greer
November 26, 1934 – January 10, 2026

Billie Jo Chandler Greer moved to her Heavenly home on January 10, 2026, after a wonderful and full life of 91 years. Billie Jo was born to H. C. and Mattie Beaufort Wallace Chandler in Opelika, Alabama, where she spent her entire childhood. A handsome associate pastor in her church swept her off her feet and she partnered with him in ministry for over 50 years in over ten cities in Eastern Alabama and South Georgia with the Methodist Church. She dedicated her life to raising her four children and working tirelessly in her church and community, whether it was singing in the choir, teaching children’s Sunday School or helping organize a spaghetti dinner. In her later years, Billie Jo lived at the Cumberland Village Retirement Center in Aiken SC where she enjoyed meeting friends in the dining room, Saturday Sing-a-longs, attending musical events at Cumberland, attending church at Langley United Methodist Church and visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Other times she could be found cheering on the Atlanta Braves or Auburn Tigers from her recliner. Billie Jo’s life had an amazing impact on anyone she met with her kind spirit and cheery outlook.
In addition to her parents, Billie Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Tegler Greer, brother Henry Clanton Chandler, Jr. (Sonny) and sister Janet Chandler Hogan.
Billie Jo is survived by her sister Suzanne Carden of Melbourne FL; sons Steve (Debra) Greer of Perry GA, Brad (Katrina) Greer of Bartlett TN; daughters Ivy (Mark) Zimmerman of Jackson SC, Jo Anne (David) Christopher of Lancaster SC; grandchildren Daniel Greer, Crystal (Taylor) Gentry Kelly (Wallace) Long, Brittney (Doug) Clark, Bryce (Connie) Zimmerman, Nancy (Justin) White, Mary Money, Robin Greer, Kenneth (Destanie) Randall, and numerous nieces, nephews and great grandchildren she loved with all her heart.
