Allen Wayne Snowden
April 16, 1947 – April 14, 2021

Mr. Allen Wayne Snowden, 73, of Cairo, GA, passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 14, 2021.  Mr. Snowden was born on April 16, 1947, in Blue Hills, ME to Catherine Ada Pecor Fountain and Larry Fountain.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  He was an avid bowler, hunter and fisherman.  He enjoyed camping trips with his family and loved going to sporting events to support his grandchildren.  Allen was a Braves and Georgia Bulldog fan.  He was a faithful member of Cairo Church of God, where he served as the President of the Men’s Life Builders.

Mr. Snowden was a master mechanic and a jack of all trades.  He worked at South Georgia Tractor for many years.  He owned and operated the Antique and Pawn Shop located in Cairo, GA, for over four years.  He then went on to own and operate Al’s Used Furniture and Appliance.

He leaves his wife of 53 years, Lana Masters Snowden of Cairo, GA; children, Grant Snowden (Cindy) of Attapulgus, GA, Susan Cook of Cairo, GA; grandchildren, Ryan Cook of Ochlocknee, GA, Shelby Cook (Brytenie) of Nashville, GA; great-grandchildren, Hunter Elizabeth Cook of Cairo, GA, Skyler Grace Riley of Thomasville, GA, Camden Behrens of Nashville, GA; sisters-in-law, Laura Dean of Concord, NH, Sharon Daigle of Jefferson, NH; a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.  He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Rory Cook; brother, Tom Snowden (and wife Louise); brothers-in-law, Dave Dean and Roger Daigle.

Funeral services for Allen are at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 18, 2021, at the Cairo Church of God, Cairo, GA, with Pastor DeWayne Atkinson officiating.  Services will conclude in the church with the family receiving friends immediately after.
