In December of 1950, her family moved to Whigham, Georgia where they ran a tobacco and chicken farm. Alice was an avid lover of music. As a toddler, she would walk around the house constantly singing. She loved many genres of music, including country, gospel, pop, rock and roll, and jazz; however, her favorite singer of all time was Elvis Presley. She loved all thing Elvis…his music, his films, and his charismatic stage presence.

Upon his return, the two dated for sixteen months and married on June 19, 1966, at Alice’s childhood farmhouse. They had two beautiful daughters Sherrie and Laura and one grandchild, Jacob.

Alice began working at Industrial Savings and Loan in 1968 as a bank teller and worked her way up to Office Manager in 1989. As the bank merged with Capital City Bank, she continued her career with Capital City rising to Vice President before retiring in 2005.

Alice moved to Tallahassee in 2023 and for the last years of her life she was surrounded by a multitude of friends, puzzle partners, and lunch dates. Alice never met a stranger and was a friend to all.
